LOCATION Miami, Florida
The four-story Medical Arts Building (MAB) is a key component of the West Kendall Baptist Hospital campus. The first element of the series of buildings supporting the hospital includes the building that houses out-patient facilities for Baptist Health system, in addition to physician offices. The canopied main entrance accesses the reception lobby and the vertical circulation core, with its central location permitting minimal walking distances to all suites and flexibility for the layout of physician offices in varying sizes. The central corridor allows for the offices to be located on the perimeter of the building, maximizing the access of natural light for the offices. The first floor is anchored by the Diagnostic Center that houses radiographic rooms, CT scans and an MRI. A covered walk connects it to the hospital through lushly landscaped gardens. The MAB is designed to complement the hospital and further define the Baptist Health brand. Mediterranean architectural elements are incorporated on the exterior: arched windows on the base, articulated windows and projected red tile hip roofs. The building has been designed to withstand Category 5 hurricanes. The hospital was selected by Soliant Health as fourth in the 2011 Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S.
