LOCATION Miami, Florida

The four-story outpatient medical center, where healing is the focus of the design concept, anchors the five-acre site. The ground floor houses the main lobby and public areas along with two clinical pods. Each upper floor offers a central module that houses the vertical circulation along with reception and waiting area, flanked by two patient care pods each containing 10 exam rooms, with treatment, diagnostic and support spaces. This plan arrangement creates two natural building indentations, occupied by outdoor healing gardens, which offer outside views and natural light to the waiting spaces. Natural wood, stone and terrazzo, combined with warm-colored lighting, help to emphasize the natural design approach. The entrances’ metal and glass canopy is light and translucent providing protection while visibly creating a bright and open environment for receiving visitors and patients.

The center also offers social activities that include games such as dominoes, canasta and other forms of entertainment.
