This 94,000-square foot state-of-the-art administration building consolidates numerous government offices previously housed in multiple sites throughout Palm Beach County. MGE coordinated intra-agency collaboration between Palm Beach County Health Department and the Palm Beach Health District.
A cornerstone of the West Palm Beach Downtown Redevelopment Plan, the five-story, pedestrian friendly building offers direct entry to first-floor retail space from two street-level sides. Its proximity to the existing Tri-Rail station provides direct access to services. Architectural elements such as arches, arcades, and tropical colors complement the style of West Palm Beach’s downtown redevelopment plans. Thoughtful sitting integrates the building into this rich visual context.
The building’s L-shape maximizes the flexibility of the interior spaces, providing a central circulation core that offers security and ease of navigation. The core also houses the electrical and telecommunications spine that serves the entire building. Mechanicals are located on the floor of each wing. Open office landscape systems are located adjacent to exterior walls, with enclosed offices situated in interior spaces.
Designed to function as an Emergency Operation Center, the building can withstand Category 3 hurricanes and immediately reopen with emergency power capabilities and conference spaces.
